A Sexy & Murderous Noir Experience

“Before I explain the job, you must understand that you are all fully committed, and that this moment… is your last chance to walk away.”

-Jacopo De Fusco, aka the “Boss Man”

Set in the 1960’s in Italy, the suave and handsome conman, Jacopo, compiles a team of status hungry criminals of varying stages of skill and experience, each bringing their own unique assets and motives to the heist at hand. Immersed into a world of sultry jazz, elegant dancing, the romance of an earlier time, and espresso so strong you’ll beg for a vintage cocktail to calm you down, this suspenseful, sexy, and unexpectedly comedic show will have you taking notes about who-done-what right alongside the seasoned, yet completely stumped Detective. See if you can outsmart the wise and sexy conman, and solve the crime before its surprising completion in Act Two.

As always, your experience at the Melonlight Theater is designed to be unequivocally intimate, with our non-traditional performance space accommodating up to 50 guests only, you will be inches from the action, and yet responsible for… nothing but enjoying yourself and sipping your beverage of choice. That’s right, you’ll feel like you’re inside the story, but there is NO audience participation, so rest easy and enjoy Melonlight’s newest five star production…

A sexy, murderous, noir experience.

The suspense will have you on the edge of your seat, and the comedy will have you falling off of it.

Book with haste - in this heist - time is of the essence.

An Intimate Letter from the Playwright

You’ve heard the name whispered… ROBBIE!... You’ve heard it’s a murderous noir experience on the stage… But what in the sexy hell is it?

Allow me to indulge you, as I am the playwright, one of the creators of Melonlight’s newest immersive onstage production.

Noir, by definition, is a genre of crime film or fiction characterized by cynicism, fatalism, and moral ambiguity. My, that certainly fits. But our show is also filled with unexpected comedy, song and dance of the highest form. Written by established playwright Emily Ulibarri (yes that’s me, and I could’ve chosen a more arrogant adjective than established) but I’ll save my arrogance for the stage; wait until you meet my new character, she’s a lot and you’ll love her. The show is directed by my handsome, charismatic, and all around visionary husband (yes, I chose several arrogant adjectives to describe him, if I’m not his number one fan, then who the hell is she? Tell me, I know a guy who can…take care of things.)

Are you starting to get the tone of the show?

This is the first full length stage production I’ve written that doesn’t revolve around ghosts, but with a dark, dramatic core at the center of my heart, I had to substitute the supernatural for the suspense of a who-dunnit style murder story.

Our cast is simply divine… captivating actors each possessing a unique magnetism playing onstage roles that were literally written for them. The all star cast of five will have you absolutely engrossed from beginning to end. They’ll astonish you with their many accents, with their brilliantly fast costume changes, and with cinematic set transitions that will make you think you’re watching a movie rather than a play.

The story commences in Italy. You’d wish you were there if our talented company didn’t make you feel like you already were. Set in the 1960’s, a simpler time, making the heist easier and sexier to execute than those of a modern day criminal. The story is immersed in the romantic music of the era, the high fashion of Italy, and an elegant Bond-meets-Hitchcock inspired tapestry on which a web of suspenseful events unfold.

I can’t tell you too much...

Because I hate a spoiler as much as my character, Angela Bianchi, hates a vanilla cannoli. But I will tell you that a handsome Italian front man compiles a group of status hungry individuals to pull off a surely less-than-legal heist with more than one motive. With a French Detective hot on their sexy jazz singing, tango dancing tails, the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the comedy will have you falling off of it.

With an appropriate amount of arrogance, gifted to us by our loving audiences, I will say that we only produce 5 star shows, and I am certain this noir comedy will entertain you from start to finish, and beyond. Yes, beyond, as in you’ll wake up and talk about it over breakfast the next morning.

Then you’ll be inspired to order a Negroni before noon while booking your flight to Italy.
